The Hearts Deception

Did I lose you?

If you were never mine to lose.

You were never mine,

Yet my heart was yours.

The love I had for you was true—

Truer than any other.

So can I cry?

If not for you, then

For the love I once carried,

For the heart that lived within me

Yet betrayed me,

And began beating for you instead.

Can I cry?

Why can't I cry?

Why won't they let me?

Why do they say I shouldn’t?

Why can’t they understand?

My own heart has deceived me!

It lives within me,

But beats for you.

If not for you, can I at least weep

For the heart I have lost—

While it still lives in my chest?

I must!

I must cry!

For my own heart has deceived me.

Am I Losing You Too?

Am I losing you too? I thought you were the one I’d never lose. Yet here I stand, At the threshold of another goodbye. I am stuck, without even the strength To call your name, Or beg you not to leave.
